14C28N launched in 2009. Kershaw describes its development as a partnership with a Swedish specialist in stainless steels. The steel business previously known as Sandvik Materials Technology became Alleima in 2022; today you’ll also see the grade called Alleima 14C28N.

These are the maker’s nominal alloy figures. The grade is intended for chef’s, pocket, hunting and fishing knives. Final blade performance also depends on heat treatment and geometry.
